Review from Wallachia International Film Festival, Romania:
‘’The Cave of Dr. Cayla” is definitely a character-driven movie. Despite its short length, it takes great care of its characters’ development and transformation. Sofia Chapman, the writer and director of this film, shaped two complex main characters, with relevant backstories for the plot she had conceived. In addition to this, Cayla and Claude function on multiple layers of complexity. The usage of two different languages (French and English), the short segments of flashbacks and the romantic subplot between those two are great examples of Sofia’s dedication to this script. She also wrote a part of the official soundtrack of the movie, taking the whole atmosphere of this short to another level! A big congratulations must go the actors - Eloise Caleo and Sofia Chapman herself and also to the entire technical team!
