Over the years Vardos have made many trips (7 at last count) to Eastern Europe meeting and learning from many folk and Roma musicians in Budapest and Bucharest, as well as the village of Mera and the town of Cluj Napoca / Kolozsvar in Transylvania (Western Romania), Iasi in Moldavia (far Eastern Romania), Hoteni in Maramures (near the Ukrainian border), Banat (Western Romania) the village of Clejani (where they met renowned Taraf de Haidouks) and Craiova in Oltenia, Southern Romania. Vardos have also performed at festivals in Hungary.
